Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tomography on Mitochondria



A one-year position (gross salary 30 k€/yr) is open immediately in a
collaboration between the Methods and Electron Microscopy Group and the
Membrane Protein Group at the Institute of Structural Biology (IBS) in
Grenoble, France, to carry out structural studies of mitochondria using
cryo-electron tomography.  Qualified candidates should hold a PhD with
experience in cryo-electron microscopy.  Experience in membrane protein or
organelle structures is most welcome.  The successful candidate will be
strongly supported in applications for EMBO or Marie-Curie fellowships to
continue after the first year.



IBS is a leading institute in structural biology in France located in
Grenoble, the center of science and technology strongly supported by the
French research initiatives.  IBS has recently acquired an FEI Polara
microscope equipped with a Gatan Imaging Filter.  A Vitrobot MkIV, a CM200
microscope, a CM12 microscope, and an ultramicrotome are also available.
