Announcement forwarded on behalf of Julie Menetrey, PhD (Laboratoire
d'Enzymologie et Biochimie Structurales (LEBS) - UPR 3082, CNRS - Avenue
de la terrasse, 91198 Gif-sur-Yvette Cedex, FRANCE).

Dear colleagues,
The LEBS seeks to recruit one group leader with expertise in structural
cryo-electron microscopy . His research will focus on understanding the
architecture and cellular functions of complex molecular assemblies. The
new groups will join the inter- disciplinary endeavours of the Unit. Our
goal is to bridge the gap between the structure of macromolecular
assemblies and their function and dynamics in cells, by having
structural biologists, biochemists and biophysicists work closely with
cell biologists on selected topics that are already well represented in
the Unit, such as the cytoskeleton and membrane traffic.
Additional information can be obtained from the Head of the Laboratory
Jacqueline Cherfils (cherfils at lebs.cnrs-gif.fr)
How to apply
Please send a detailed CV, 2 letters of recommendation and a cover
letter describing your research interests and future directions to :
applications at lebs.cnrs-gif.fr.
More about the Laboratory of Enzymology and Structural Biochemistry
Researchers at the LEBS combine structural biology, biochemistry,
biophysics and cell biology methods to understand how macromolecular
complexes assemble and function in the cell, and apply this knowledge to
decipher the molecular basis of human diseases. The Unit focuses on
major cellular functions including cytoskeleton dynamics, membrane
traffic, signalling and protein homeostasis. It offers access to
state-of-the-art technologies for protein sciences, including in-house
equipments (see our Web pages http://www.lebs.cnrs-gif.fr/home.html) and
local NMR, mass spectrometry, electron microscopy and cell imaging
facilities (www.imagif.fr). The laboratory is located on the CNRS
scientific Campus in Gif-sur-Yvette, 45 minutes from the centre of Paris
by public transportation, and 5 minutes from the SOLEIL Synchrotron
Radiation Center.
