Dear Colleagues,
The European Bioinformatics Institute is inviting applications for the
post of EM project leader at the Protein Data Bank in Europe (PDBe,
located at the EMBL-EBI in Cambridge, UK). The ideal candidate for this
position will combine a thorough understanding of 3D cryo-EM (from
sample preparation via data collection and reconstruction to model
fitting) with a more than superficial familiarity with the computational
and bioinformatics aspects of the area.
This is a relatively senior position within the PDBe team with stable
EMBL funding (and with responsibility for, initially, two externally
funded scientific programmers). It is important for EMDB, PDBe and the
EBI (and, ultimately, the EM community) to attract an excellent person
for this challenging position. The right person will be able to have a
significant impact on the way in which EM data and models are deposited,
annotated, validated, stored, analysed and disseminated.
