OPEN POSTDOC POSITION:
Project: Atomic force microscopy (AFM) of membrane proteins
Project leader: Simon Scheuring
Institute: Institut Curie, UMR-CNRS168
City: Paris
Country: France
APPLICATION:
Motivated applicants with background in atomic force microscopy (AFM),
electron microscopy (EM), 2D- or 3D- crystallization and/or structural
analysis of membrane proteins, or membrane protein biochemistry, send a
CV including publications list to:
simon.scheuring at curie.fr
SUMMARY:
Our group performs high-resolution atomic force microscopy (AFM)
imaging of membrane proteins. Information concerning structure,
function related conformational changes, and supramolecular assemblies,
crucial for a complete understanding of membrane proteins, can be
contributed by AFM. Furthermore, the AFM features such a high
signal-to-noise ratio that membrane proteins can directly be visualized
in their native environment, the native membrane, in physiological
buffer, at room temperature and under normal pressure.
KEY PUBLICATION:
Chromatic adaptation of photosynthetic membranes.
