The Fäßler and Riveline teams at IGBMC are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral researcher to investigate the mechanisms underlying cytokinetic actomyosin ring closure. This interdisciplinary project combines in situ ultrastructural analyses—revealing
actin filament polarity and myosin distribution—with live-cell imaging. Our objective is to develop a comprehensive understanding of this fundamental step in cell division.

IGBMC hosts strong international communities of cell and structural biologists and houses excellent light- and electron microscopy equipment, including a Titan Krios G4. It is located on the outskirts of Strasbourg, a student city in the center of Europe, and
near the Vosges and Schwarzwald mountain ranges, offering excellent opportunities to unwind and refocus.

If you are interested in joining us, please send your application by the 11th of May as a single PDF file containing your CV, a motivation letter (max. 1 page), and a paragraph on how the application of cryo-electron tomography (could have) advanced your PhD
work or this topic (max. 1 page), and the contact details of at least 2 references to florian.faessler@igbmc.fr and riveline@igbmc.fr. Please send further questions regarding the position also to these addresses.

As cryo-electron tomography, from specimen preparation to (ultra-) structural analysis, is at the heart of the project, prior experience in the relevant techniques, especially in high-pressure freezing and focused ion-beam milling, is considered an advantage
during the selection process for the position. We also encourage applications from potential candidates with expertise in other (cryo-) electron microscopic approaches, live cell imaging, or biological physics who are keen to become versed in cryo-electron
tomography.
