<p class="x_MsoNormal">The meeting will highlight the latest technical and research developments in the vEM field. It will build on recent successes, with vEM being named as one of the 7 technologies to watch for 2023 in Nature and support from the Chan Zuckerberg
Initiative to further build the vEM community.</p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"> <span class="" style="color:rgb(34,34,34); background-color:rgb(254,254,254)">Just as the resolution revolution in cryoEM has fundamentally altered the field of structural biology, we are entering the era where large-scale and multimodal
imaging centered on electron microscopy of cell and tissue ultrastructure in 3D is poised to transform cell biological research. Volume Electron Microscopy (vEM) is a term adopted by our community to describe a set of high-resolution imaging techniques that
reveal the three-dimensional structure of cells, tissues and small model organisms at nano- to micrometre resolutions. vEM techniques include Serial Block Face SEM (SBF SEM), Focused Ion Beam SEM (FIB SEM), single-beam array tomography (sAT), multi-beam array
tomography (mAT), plasma FIB (pFIB), serial section TEM, serial section Electron Tomography (ssET), and GridTape TEM (gtTEM).</span><span class="x_apple-converted-space" style="color:rgb(34,34,34); background-color:rgb(254,254,254)"> </span></p>

<p class="x_MsoNormal"> With a very exciting line up of speakers in place, the meeting is now open for applications. We have also reserved a number of spaces for shorter presentations to be selected from submitted poster abstracts. Thank you to those who have
already registered, we are now starting to review them periodically and accept participants.</p>

<p class="x_MsoNormal"> Please note that, in line with GRC rules, the conference will be in-person only, with no online attendance.</p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"> Applications for the conference must be submitted by June 18<sup class="">th</sup> 2023. We expect there to be a large number of applications and so the selection process will likely take place much earlier. In the case of oversubscription,
we will endeavour to ensure good representation from a diverse range of labs from across the globe, and priority will be given to applicants who submit a poster presentation.</p>
