Our projects include potassium transport by the ATP-dependent pump KdpFABC and zinc transport by members of the Cation Diffusion Facilitator family such as YiiP. For both projects, we employ cryo-EM to capture different conformational states and in vitro assays of transport and substrate binding to elucidate biophysical bases for the transport process. A Ph.D. degree and experience in either membrane protein biophysics or cryo-EM are required. NYU offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits; salary range will be $60,000 - $80,000 per year depending on experience and the starting date is negotiable. Candidates should send a curriculum vitae and names of 3 references to David Stokes at stokes@nyu.edu.

NYU School of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to a policy of equal treatment and opportunity in every aspect of its recruitment and hiring process without regard to age, alienage, caregiver status, childbirth, citizenship status, color, creed, disability, domestic violence victim status, ethnicity, familial status, gender and/or gender identity or expression, marital status, military status, national origin, parental status, partnership status, predisposing genetic characteristics, pregnancy, race, religion, reproductive health decision making, sex, sexual orientation, unemployment status, veteran status, or any other legally protected basis.
