applies cryo-electron tomography and correlative light and electron microscopy
technologies to study the macromolecular basis of protein aggregation and
membrane remodeling in neurological disease. </span></p>

a defect of nuclear pore complex biogenesis and insertion in neurons in
dystonia. They have generated a suite of novel reagents to probe this disease
related dysfunction and to study the neuronal nuclear membrane more generally.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 6pt;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial;font-size:12pt;font-family:Cambria"><span style="font-family:Arial">The successful candidate will take an
active role in defining and driving future studies of nuclear pore complex
abnormalities and nuclear envelope remodeling research being jointly pursued by
these labs. Main methods are cryo-focused ion beam specimen preparations,
cryo-electron tomography and 3D processing/sub-tomogram averaging, together
with correlative light/electron microscopy.<br>
