<div>I would like to bring to your attention an open faculty position at the University of Virginia - School of Medicine. The Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics seeks to recruit an expert in cryo electron tomography at the Assistant or
Associate level.</div>

<div>The department and the associated Molecular Electron Microscopy Center provide access to an excellent structural biology infrastructure, including a Titan Krios equipped with Falcon-3 and Gatan K3 detectors, a Glacios with Falcon-4 detector, in addition
to several other screening microscopes. The University will also invest in a new cryo focused ion beam scanning electron microscope and supporting technologies in conjunction with this position.

<div>The Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia invites</div>
<div>applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in cryo electron tomography. The Department</div>
<div>seeks to expand its strengths in structural, cardiovascular, cancer, and membrane and chemical</div>
<div>biology towards high resolution cryo electron tomography of cellular and subcellular structures. The</div>
<div>Department is closely affiliated with UVA’s Molecular Electron Microscopy Core facility providing</div>
<div>access to state-of-the art cryo-EM resources (Titan Krios and Glacios with Gatan K3 and Falcon 4</div>
<div>direct electron detectors, respectively, and F20 with CMOS camera). The University will also invest in a</div>
<div>new cryo focused ion beam scanning electron microscope and supporting technologies in conjunction</div>
<div>with this position. It is expected that the new hire will develop a strong independent research program</div>
<div>to use and further develop this technology to solve important biomedical problems. Applicants are</div>
<div>expected to be highly collaborative and integrate well with a growing number of researchers and</div>
<div>physician scientists in basic and clinical departments of the UVA School of Medicine. Applicants will be</div>
<div>considered for either an Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Tenure status and rank of the position</div>
<div>depends on qualifications. Highly competitive start-up packages will be offered.</div>
