        integrated structural biology
        programs carried out at DBSCI#, IBS (Structural Biology
        Institute) operates a number of state-of-the-art
        platforms that are accessible via the local PSB ("Partnership
        for

        (FRISBI) and
        European (Instruct-ERIC) programs.</span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"> </span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">In particular, the
        IBS operates an electron
        microscopy platform equipped with three electron microscopes:
        T12 for negative
        staining and cellular electron microscopy at room temperature;
        F20 for negative
        staining, cryo-EM, cellular electron microscopy at room
        temperature and in cryo
        mode, electron micro-diffraction; Glacios equipped with 2 direct
        electron
        detectors: K2 summit and Falcon 2. The latter instrument allows
        extensive
        screening of grids prior to the collection of high-resolution
        data both for the
        analysis of isolated particles and for cryo-electron tomography
        on isolated particles
        or cellular sections. The platform is also equipped with all the
        auxiliary
        instruments necessary for the preparation of grids in negative
        staining and
        cryo-EM, and also has access to an EMBL-IBS computing cluster
        for image
        analysis (660 CPUs; 40 GPUs). In addition to operating its own
        electron
        microscopy platform, the IBS is also involved in the operation
        of the Krios
        CM01 electron microscopy platform at ESRF. The installation of a
        second
        state-of-the-art 300 kV microscope at ESRF (CM02) is expected to
        be completed
        in 2022 or beginning of 2023. CM02 will be operated by IBS staff
        and will
        provide access to a state-of-the-art instrument for national and
        international
        users (ESRF/ FRISBI/Instruct-ERIC).</span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"> </span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">The CEA is
        recruiting a scientist / reserach engineer on a
        permanent basis to support the cryo-electron microscopy projects
        within the
        DBSCI, the candidate must be a recognized expert in
        cryo-electron microscopy.</span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"> </span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US">The position will
        be based at IBS, but the
        candidate will be expected to interact with the LPCV and IBS
        groups and to work
        on the CM02 platform at ESRF providing user support. The
        position is attached
        to the IBS MEM group, which operates the IBS electron microscopy
        platform

        and will be in charge of the CM02 platform. The successful
        candidate will work
        under the responsibility of the Head of the Methods and Electron
        Microscopy
        Group.</span></p>

        of the successful candidate will be

    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span

        part of a scientific committee in charge of selecting DBSCI
        projects to be
        supported in cryo-electron microscopy (isolated particles and
        tomography).</span></p>

        </span>Support and conduct the selected cryo-EM "single
        particle"
        projects, in close collaboration with the DBSCI research groups,
        from cryo-EM
        data collection to image analysis, 3D reconstructions and model
        building.</span></p>

        style="mso-ansi-language:EN-US" lang="EN-US"><span
          style="mso-spacerun:yes">   
        </span>Support the selected cryo-electron tomography projects
        within the DBSCI. </span></p>
    <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span

        </span>Implementing the latest developments in image analysis to
        make the most
        of EM images, including the description of heterogeneous
        conformational
        ensembles.</span></p>

        closely with DBSCI staff involved in the projects and contribute
        to their
        training in cryo-electron microscopy data collection and

        pedagogical skills to

        image analysis protocols to isolate rare conformations in silico
        would be a
