<p class="Default">MCW Future Stars Symposium in Structural Biology is the second in a series of symposia that feature 15-20 minute talks from outstanding postdoctoral investigators. This virtual symposium is part of a broad initiative at MCW to expand existing
strengths in structural and chemical biology, especially as related to cancer biology, including
<b><i>several future hires at the junior faculty level</i></b>. After the presentations speakers and attendees will interact and share ideas via virtual breakout sessions. This is a great opportunity for postdocs entering the job market: postdocs receive exposure
by speaking at this well-attended event and additionally receive speaking honorariums.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="Default">If you are interested in participating, please submit a 150-word abstract and your CV to Michele Ward (<span style="color:blue"><a href="mailto:mward@mcw.edu">mward@mcw.edu</a></span>) by noon on Friday, May 28th. The Recruitment Committee
will inform the speakers of their selection during the first week of June, with logistical details to follow thereafter. We are particularly interested in hearing from potential speakers from underrepresented communities.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Medical College of Wisconsin is the 3rd largest private medical school in the country, conducting over $200M annually in externally funded research, with over $145M from
the NIH. A newly established Structural and Chemical Biology Center is home to state-of-the-art X-ray, NMR, and chemical synthesis facilities with ready access to shared resources for high-performance computing. MCW is also home to an NIH-designated National
Biomedical EPR Center and Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. Institutional disease-focused initiatives and established centers for cardiovascular, neuroscience, infectious disease, immunology, and cancer research provide translational opportunities
for structure-based drug discovery. Additionally, MCW Cryo-EM researchers have expanded instrumentation opportunities through participation in a statewide Cryo-EM consortium that includes the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Cryo-EM Research Center
