<div class="">The <b class=""><u class="">Dubochet Center for Imaging</u></b> (DCI) is being setup in Lausanne, Switzerland. We are seeking applications for the head of the DCI, as well as for two cryo-EM experts and a service engineer.</div>

<div class="">The Dubochet Center for Imaging (DCI) is a joint initiative of the EPFL, the University of Lausanne and the University of Geneva. It will be inaugurated with two Titan Krios G4 and one Glacios cryo-electron microscopes, all equipped with Falcon-IV
detectors. The Titans will feature Cold-FEG electron sources, and one Titan will have a SelectrisX energy filter. Further instruments for the DCI will follow. </div>

<div class="">The DCI will have as partner site the CryoGEnic cryo-EM facility at the University of Geneva. In addition, the DCI will closely interact with the EMF cryo-EM facility of the University of Lausanne and the BioEM / CIME electron microscopy facilities
of the EPFL.</div>

<div class="">The DCI will use frontier cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) to contribute to life sciences research in the Lemanic region. The DCI will expand its cryo-EM and cryo-ET studies with correlative light and electron
microscopy (CLEM), correlative serial block-face scanning electron microscopy or FIB-SEM, and advanced levels of sample preparation and data analysis. The DCI will train the next generation of structural biologists and serve as platform to host workshops and
seminars. It will strive to implement the latest developments in the areas of hardware and software.</div>

<div class="">We seek a head for the DCI. This person will support the setup of the DCI and its instruments, and be responsible for running the center’s activities in imaging, teaching and outreach. The candidate will train and supervise the center staff, prepare
and coordinate the installation of the center’s instruments, manage instrument maintenance and operation, contribute to training and supervision of users in the operation of the instruments, and coordinate projects and instrument assignments to projects.</div>

<div class="">The candidate should have a Ph.D. in biology, engineering, physics or a related discipline. Extensive experience in cryo-EM and cryo-ET, including sample preparation, instrument setup and alignment, manual and automated data collection, as well
as image analysis is expected. The candidate should have a good understanding of biological research and cell and molecular biology. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills in English are required, together with a service-oriented

<div class="">We are inviting applications for two positions of a Cryo-EM Expert at the DCI. This is a service position to support projects of the clients of the DCI. This person will operate the DCI instruments and perform structural investigations of biological
specimens using cryo-EM. The person will also participate in the center’s activities in teaching and outreach. The candidate will contribute to microscope alignment, sample preparation, and manual and automated EM data collection. Optional contribution or
performance of computational data analysis is welcome.</div>

<div class="">We are seeking a Service Engineer for the electron microscopes at the DCI. This person will support the setup of the DCI and its instruments, and perform maintenance and repair tasks on the DCI instruments. In addition, this person may participate
in the research routines and customer support of the DCI.</div>

<div class="">The candidate should have a training in electron microscope maintenance, repair and alignment from a leading electron microscopy manufacturer. The candidate should have a good understanding of computer control and instrument software systems.
Participation in student and research projects involving biological research is possible. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills in English are required, together with a service-oriented mindset in interactions with customers
of the Center.</div>
