Please beware of any emails sent by someone<span style="font-size:13px;white-space:nowrap"> in favor of CPG Scientific Events.</span></div><div><span style="font-size:13px;white-space:nowrap"><br></span></div><p style="padding:0px;margin:0px;overflow:hidden;white-space:nowrap;font-size:13px;text-overflow:ellipsis"></p><div>I was contacted on Linkedin by Visalakshmi Gadadasu from Bengaluru India saying that she saw my profile and wanted to invite me as a speaker for a structural biology meeting in Europe and asked for an abstract. .She is accompanied by Aurora Shae I checked CPG websites and nothing seemed hoax until today. </div><div><br></div><div>Thankfully I had just submitted the abstract and within a day it was accepted and now they want me to submit money to proceed.</div><div><br></div><div>This is where I felt it is a hoax as they have sent a Paypal link. I had used Paypal link once to buy something from India and my account got hacked.</div><div><br></div><div>So please beware of such hoaxes especially it applies for young early-career scientists who are trying to create an impression. A reminder NCCAT is accepting applications to our short-courses covering Single-Particle-Analysis on March 2-6, 2020 and Tomography on April 13-17, 2020. Our early registration deadline is November 30, 2019. There is limited on-site availability. After that point, you may still register for remote attendance of our morning lectures.<br>
<br>
These 1-week short courses will be an immersive experience in the art and science of cryoEM. The mornings offer lectures and stimulating round table discussions. The afternoons provide hands-on practicals to reinforce fundamental concepts and topics covered earlier in the day. A postdoc position is available in my lab to investigate motor proteins powering microtubule-based movement within cilia and flagella. We use cryo-EM, single-molecule fluorescence microscopy, and multi-protein expression to ask mechanistic questions about cargo transport along microtubules.<br>
