<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">We are pleased to announce the third <b class="">SPHIRE </b>workshop, to be held<b class=""> </b>on<b class=""> 6-8 November</b>,<b class=""> 2017</b> at the Rice University <b class="">Houston,
TX. </b></span><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">The workshop is </span><b style="font-family: Arial;" class="">free</b><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">, but limited to 35 participants. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">The target audience includes graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">This workshop will provide intensive hands-on-training in all practical
aspects of single particle cryo-EM image processing using SPHIRE. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">All stages of the SPHIRE pipeline will be covered, including:</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">- Micrograph movie alignment</span><o:p class=""></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">- CTF estimation</span><o:p class=""></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">- 2D classification</span><o:p class=""></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">- 3D initial model generation</span><o:p class=""></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">- High-resolution 3D refinement</span><o:p class=""></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">- 3D focused classification and heterogeneity analysis<o:p class=""></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class=""> </span>Additional topical lectures will be given by Steve Ludtke, Marek Kimmel, and FEI representative. <span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">Registrations to the workshop will be accepted
based on application letter.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial;" class="">The participants are requested to bring their own Linux/Mac or Windows laptops.</span></p>
