invites applications for a group leader position in Structural Biology in the area of cryo-electron microscopy (or its combination with X-ray crystallography) of biological macromolecules and assemblies. The NNF-CPR is one of the world’s leading basic biomedical
research institutes. The institute is hosted at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and is located in the Øresund region, where many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are based. In addition, our centre
is located within a 25 minutes train distance to the last generation Synchrotron MAX-IV and the ESS (European Spallation Source) in Lund. The DESY synchrotron and the XFEL in Hamburg are accessible in a 4 h train trip.</span><span lang="EN-GB" class="" style="font-family: Times;"><o:p class=""></o:p></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span lang="EN-GB" class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 14px;">Applicants are expected to develop and lead an independent, innovative research program investigating important questions
in biology at a molecular level. We seek applicants that are using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) as a major structural biology tool towards the mechanistic understanding of important biological processes. The ideal candidate would be someone who can be
considered an expert in the use of state-of-the-art cryo-EM methodology, who is applying cryo-EM, in combination with biochemical and/or biophysical approaches, to gain insight into the molecular workings of an important biological system. In addition, the
successful candidate is expected to closely interact with other scientists in CPR in areas covering structural and mechanistic protein biology.<o:p class=""></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span class="" style="font-size: 14px;"><span lang="EN-GB" class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">To establish a strong cryo EM group, the institute provides the state-of-the art infrastructure and
instrumentation including a Titan Krios cryo microscope equipped with the state of the art direct electron detector. Successful applicants will benefit from an intellectually stimulating, supportive and collaborative environment, and a range of enabling core
facilities in the centre including X-ray crystallography, protein production, molecular biophysics, high performance computing, bioinformatics, electron microscopy (CFIM), and mass spectrometry. </span><span lang="EN-GB" class="" style="font-family: Times;"><o:p class=""></o:p></span></span></p>
