An update concerning the faculty search at UC Berkeley for an
assistant professor working on cryo-EM.

A new Krios/K2 are being installed right now and will be
running before the end of the year, so this is an exciting time!

The UC berkeley campus and the San Francisco Bay area are great
sites to do cryo-EM! Here is a copy of the message sent by my
colleague Jim Hurley. Notice that the application time ends in
just over a month.
microscopy (cryo-EM) as a major structural biology tool towards
the mechanistic understanding of important biological processes.
The ideal candidate would be someone that can be considered an
expert in the use of state-of-the-art cryo-EM methodology and that
is applying cryo-EM, in combination with biochemical and/or
biophysical approaches, to gain insight into the molecular
workings of an important biological system. Areas of interest
include, but are not limited to: nucleic acid transactions,
membrane proteins or signaling complexes.
