The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the cryo electron microscopy facility at the University of Texas at El Paso, a facility used by investigators that study a broad range of biological and materials science samples employing single-particle
analysis, electron tomography and HR-TEM. <br>
<br>
The job responsibilities will include the operation and maintenance of a JEOL 3200FS electron microscope and associated equipment. The Manager will oversee daily operation of the microscope by supervising users, training new users, performing maintenance and
repair work and manage service contracts, perform data collection in support of various EM users. As a
<span style="color:red">Research Assistant Professor</span>, the successful candidate will be expected to play an active research role that includes scholarly publications and securing grant funding.<br>

The successful candidate should have a background in biophysics, biological sciences, engineering or a related field of science that includes training in the use and routine maintenance of electron microscopes, as well as experience in specimen preparation
techniques. Effective communication skills in English are considered critical in the position.<br>

Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and training. The position is available immediately and the search will remain open until filled.<br>
