Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (Martinsried, Germany) and will move to

membrane-associated processes<i> </i>in
their native settings<i> </i>by cryo-electron
tomography (cryo-ET) in conjunction with advanced image analysis (see also: Pfeffer

5:3072). The other position is available in development and application of new computational methods
for three-dimensional tomographic reconstruction and statistical analysis to

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><font size="2"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><b><span>Requirements: </span></b><span>The successful PhD candidate holds an excellent
master degree in (bio)chemistry, (bio)physics, mathematics, chemistry, computational
sciences, or a related field of science.</span><span><span> Postdoctoral candidates have an excellent PhD documenting profound skills either in </span></span><span><span>structural
biology and </span></span><span><span>molecular biology or image processing and scientific programming. </span></span><span><span>

















<span>Previous experience in electron cryo-microscopy
and image processing would be a plus. </span>
