We are offering one 3-year research position in electron cryomicroscopy in <BR>
the Rosenthal Laboratory in NIMR’s Division of Physical Biochemistry.<BR>
<BR>
NIMR is one of the founding institutes of the new Francis Crick Institute.<BR>
Opening in 2015 at St Pancras in central London, the Crick will have 1,250 <BR>
researchers.<BR>
Its goal will be to understand the basic biology underlying human health. <BR>
It is supported by the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, the <BR>
Wellcome Trust, University College London, Imperial College London and <BR>
King’s College London.<BR>
<BR>
The post-holder will work on experimental single particle cryomicroscopy <BR>
of macromolecular complexes and/or tomography with a focus on instrumentation,<BR>
data acquisition, and automation. Excellent facilities are available for <BR>
cryomicroscopy and you will contribute to the management of the instruments<BR>
and development of new methods.<BR>
<BR>
You should have a PhD, postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of <BR>
research in electron microscopy.<BR>
Because there is an emphasis on instrumentation and methods development, <BR>
you must have experience using<BR>
field emission gun microscopes, detectors, and additional associated <BR>
hardware equipment and software.<BR>
You should have good communication skills.<BR>
