A Post-Doctoral position is available within Dr Ed Morris’ group to
investigate the structure of the inositol trisphosphate receptor (IP3R) and
related signalling complexes by electron microscope based methodologies. The
project primarily involves electron microscopy of protein complexes using both
negative stain and cryoelectron microscope methodologies and the analysis of
the resulting data by single particle methods. Some biochemistry, protein
purification and sample optimisation, may also be required. You will hold a
PhD, or be close to completing their PhD studies, in a relevant field and have
experience in structural biology. Familiarity with electron microscopy and
single particle image analysis would be an advantage as would a knowledge of
the biological background relevant to the structural analysis of signalling
complexes. <br>

microscope studies which will include Tecnai F20 and Tecnai T12 electron
microscopes and the Section of Structural Biology is well equipped for computer
based image analysis and protein production. <br>

The position is available for a period of 35 months with a starting salary in
the range £23,619 to £27,973 p.a. inclusive, based on skills and previous
