Cryo-EM Facility Manager<BR>
<BR>
The Department of Biological Sciences seeks to fill the<BR>
position of Facility Manager for the Centre for<BR>
Biomolecular Electron Microscopy (CBEM).<BR>
<BR>
The postholder will be responsible for the daily<BR>
operation of the CBEM, a national cryo-EM research<BR>
facility sponsored by the BBSRC.<BR>
<BR>
The successful candidate must have a first degree in<BR>
the biological, chemical or physical sciences and,<BR>
preferably, a PhD. Experience in the operation of<BR>
electron microscopes (or other such advanced<BR>
scientific instrumentation) is essential. The preparation<BR>
of biological samples for cryo-electron microscopy is<BR>
crucial to our operation.<BR>
<BR>
The successful candidate must not only have a high<BR>
level of technical expertise, but also excellent<BR>
interpersonal and organisational skills<BR>
<BR>
The salary will be in the range £34,762 - £38,836<BR>
per annum (Professional Services Level 4) with<BR>
exceptional candidates being considered for<BR>
Level 5 (£38,836 - £44,656).<BR>
