Dear colleagues in the NY area,
A reminder that the 6th NY Area Cryo-EM Meeting, which will be held on May 27th, 2026 at NYU Langone Medical Center, is only 1 month away.
The website for the meeting can be found at:

If you are interested in giving a talk, please be sure to register by this Friday, May 1 at the latest since we are finalizing the program. The deadline for registration is May 8.
This year, Dr. Jean-Paul Armache from Penn State University will be the Keynote Speaker. We thank our generous sponsors for contributing to keep the program free for academic and not-for-profit attendees:
Cytiva Life Sciences
Structura Biotechnology
Angstrom Scientific
MiTeGen
Nanosoft Materials
Refyn
NanoTemper
Thermo Fisher Scientific
This series of meetings, started by Greg Alushin at Rockefeller University and Gira Bhabha at NYU, has historically been a fantastic forum for trainees and early career faculty from across the tristate area to share and discuss unpublished work at the forefront of cryo-EM & cryo-ET research, in a welcoming and engaging environment. I am co-organizing the 2026 meeting with Dr. Francesca Vallese (CUNY Advanced Science Research Center) and Dr. Vasileios Petrou (Rutgers New Jersey Medical School), and we are determined to continue this excellent tradition.
This meeting is discussion-based (20 min combined talk and discussion, as well as posters) and will be focused on unpublished data that spark conversations about the state-of-the art in the cryo-EM/cryo-ET field, including technical challenges and difficult datasets. We aim to include ~140 participants from as many labs as possible located in NYC and the surrounding area.
Talks and posters will be selected from submitted abstracts. We will prioritize trainees and early career faculty for talks, but attendees at all levels are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Registration will be free for attendees from academic and not-for-profit institutions, and $250 for those from for-profit enterprises.
Hope to see you there!
Bill, Francesca, and Vasileios
