This International EMBO workshop on Ribosome Synthesis will be held in Cambridge, UK, from September 7 – 12, 2025, and will bring together approximately 200 biomedical researchers. The researchers will share and discuss their latest investigations on how the cellular protein factories called ribosomes are assembled. Participants will explore new strategies to target the process of ribosome synthesis to develop novel therapeutics for devastating diseases, including bone marrow failure disorders caused by mutations in ribosome synthesis factors and common forms of cancer. Researchers investigating the formation of bacterial ribosomes will also attend this conference, aiming to inform the development of new strategies to kill bacteria by targeting this process through the development of novel antibiotics.
