Dear all,

I am deeply grateful for your kind and thoughtful condolence messages during this difficult time, as well as for sharing your memories of Karen. Your support means so much to us at eBIC and Diamond as we mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague. Your messages will be shared with Karen's family, who will surely find comfort in this outpouring of love and remembrance.

Karen will be greatly missed by our community. We have received numerous messages of support, and while I regret that I cannot respond to each one individually, please know that I sincerely appreciate every single one.

In honour of Karen, we are planning a memorial symposium, likely next spring, and we hope you will be able to join us.

It is with great sadness that I have to communicate that Karen Davies, one of our Principal Electron Microscopy Scientists at eBIC has passed away on the 10th February 2025.  Karen was a highly regarded structural biologist and will be sorely missed by us at Diamond and by everyone who was taught, mentored, and worked with her.
