Dear all, our 2025 3DEM GRC is already heavily oversubscribed thanks to the enthusiastic engagement of our great community!

Don’t hesitate to still send in your application (those with poster presentations will be prioritised) if you are eager to attend, but please understand that decisions on new acceptances will only be possible in case of cancellations. I also appreciate the difficulty with current finding uncertainty for our US based colleagues, so please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to me if needed.

Looking froward to an exciting meeting, Julia

> The 3DEM GRS, co-chaired by Judy Huang and Sven Klumpe, is a one day event that offers a platform for early-career researchers to present their work, share cutting-edge ideas, and foster collaborations with peers in a supportive environment. The focus of the 2025 GRS will be novel approaches in Cryo-Electron Microscopy and Tomography, emphasizing recent advances in hardware and software that enable in situ structural biology. These developments have expanded opportunities to address complex biological questions using multimodal cryo-EM techniques which we will aim to highlight during the meeting. Through engaging sessions and mentorship, attendees can discuss challenges, share solutions, and build networks within the community.

> The 2025 edition will continue the tradition of highlighting cutting-edge method development in all aspects of high-resolution imaging of frozen-hydrated specimens with electron microscopy towards a structural and mechanistic understanding of complex biological systems. The scientific agenda will reflect advances in methods and instrumentation for specimen preparation in vitro and in situ, structural studies of dynamic macromolecules and their complex interactions with cryo-electron microscopy and tomography, three-dimensional multi-modal and correlative imaging, as well as computational approaches for data analysis, integration and interpretation, including AI-based methods. Following the tradition of 3DEM GRCs, two evening sessions are dedicated to presentations selected from posters at the meeting that accelerate exchange of emerging ideas and the discussion on the challenges and opportunities in the field.

We especially encourage trainees from underrepresented groups and countries to apply. Depending on the success of our fund raising efforts, we hope to be able to provide financial support to a number of early-career investigators for attending the meeting.
