CryoCool? We have two exciting opportunities to join our team at CSSB in Hamburg!
1. Staff Scientist for Technical Support and Training in Cryo-Electron Microscopy (EGR. 13 TV-L)
Start date: As soon as possible, fixed term for 12 months
Application deadline: March 20, 2025
What you’ll do:
Train and mentor users on advanced instrumentation (Talos L120c, FIB/SEM)
Improve the preparation of high-quality samples through guided training (Vitrobot, Leica GP2)
Ensure optimal performance and maintenance of all instruments (Talos L120, Arctica, Krios, Aquilos, Arctis Plasma FIB/SEM)
Develop and refine technology workflows to enhance our research capabilities (here your interest determines the focus)

2. Technical Assistant for Correlative Light and Cryo-Electron Microscopy (EGR. 9B TV-L)
Start date: As soon as possible, fixed term for 18 months
Application deadline: March 21, 2025
What you’ll do:
Perform advanced imaging of vitrified samples using light cryo-microscopes
Operate and maintain cutting-edge cryo-FIB/SEM instruments with iFLM (Aquilos 2, Arctis Cryo-Plasma FIB)
Support sample preparation and run test experiments to optimize workflows
Conduct work in BSL-2 labs, including genetic and infection biology experiments
