Dear 3DEM and CCP-EM Community,

We are excited to invite you to the first webinar in the new Clovertex
Webinar Series! This inaugural session will focus on *Cryo-EM Processing in
Industry*, bringing together experts from pharma, biotech, and academia to
discuss the unique aspects of processing cryo-EM data in industrial
settings. The event is designed for scientists working in industry, those
interested in transitioning to industry, and method developers aiming to
bridge the gap between basic research and real-world applications. Webinar
participants are encouraged to ask questions to our panelists, and we will
do our best to address them during the webinar. If necessary, we will
follow up offline to ensure all questions are answered.

*Webinar Details*Title: Cryo-EM Processing in Industry
Date & Time: *March 13 at 11:00 AM EST* (8:00 AM PST | 4:00 PM CET)

Panelists: Katie Meze (Sanofi), Roberto Valverde (Renasant Bio), Simone
Cavadini (FMI)

*About the Panelists*
*Katarina (Katie) Meze, Ph.D. – Senior Scientist, Sanofi*
Dr. Meze is a structural biologist specializing in small-molecule drug
discovery at Sanofi. She applies cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography to study
macromolecular mechanisms and support therapeutic development. She holds a
Ph.D. from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and has extensive experience in
structural biology, having trained at institutions such as the University
of Michigan and the University of York. Dr. Meze is also a co-founder of
WoINSPIREBio, a group dedicated to connecting women structural biologists
in industry and academia.

*Roberto Valverde, Ph.D. – Principal Scientist, Renasant Bio*
Dr. Valverde earned his Ph.D. from Yale University in the laboratory of
Professor Lynne Regan, Ph.D., where he focused on protein engineering.
Following his graduate studies, he pursued postdoctoral research in the
laboratory of Professor Stephen C. Harrison at Harvard Medical School,
studying kinetochore assembly and regulation. After his postdoctoral
training, he joined Relay Therapeutics as one of its earliest employees,
where he established the company’s cryo-EM pipeline and contributed to
structure-based drug discovery efforts. He was part of the early research
team that developed RLY-4008, a selective FGFR2 inhibitor now in Phase 2
clinical trials for FGFR2-altered cholangiocarcinoma, and RLY-2608, an
allosteric mutant-selective PI3Kα inhibitor. Currently, Dr. Valverde is a
Principal Scientist at Renasant Bio, where he leads structural biology and
biophysics.

*Simone Cavadini, Ph.D. – Platform Head, Structural Biology, Friedrich
Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI), Basel*
Dr. Cavadini leads the Structural Biology Platform at FMI Basel, where he
and his team utilize advanced computational structural biology and cryo-EM
to study chromatin structure, DNA repair mechanisms, and targeted protein
degradation. With 15 years of cryo-EM experience, he has collaborated with
Novartis since 2016 to expand a joint cryo-EM facility.

*About Clovertex*Clovertex specializes in cryo-EM cloud infrastructure for
biotech and pharma, delivering tailored, scalable, and compliant solutions
that evolve with customer needs. As an AWS Life Sciences Competency
Partner, Clovertex is recognized for its expertise in Research IT,
particularly its impact on cryo-EM for drug discovery. Clovertex automates
hardware, software, and data management within a customer’s own cloud
account (e.g., AWS) while ensuring compliance with corporate IT policies.
Continuously maintained and optimized, it’s the smart way to run cryo-EM on
AWS and the cloud - so scientists can focus on science, not IT.

We look forward to a lively discussion and hope to see you there:
