Dear all,
A one-day symposium will be held January 11, 2025 (Saturday) at UC Berkeley on the topic of “Cryo-EM: the next 50 years”. It will be a hybrid meeting that we anticipate will reach a global audience. The symposium will address the future prospects of cryo-EM and cryo-ET in making an impact in fundamental and translational biomedicine through further advances in sample preparation, new instrumentation, and data processing.
Confirmed speakers:
Wolfgang Baumeister
Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany
Peter Denes
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA
David DeRosier
Brandeis University, Waltham, MA
Joachim Frank
Columbia University, New York, New York
Richard Henderson
Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
Bronwyn Lucas
University of California, Berkeley, California
Julia Mahamid
European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany
Chris Russo
Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
Ken Taylor
Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
Nigel Unwin
Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
Elisabeth Villa
University of California, San Diego, CA
We hope that this symposium will inspire the global community to make the next revolution of this incredible cryogenic electron microscopy since its beginning 50 years ago.
