Dear Marion,

I fully support the mail by Tobias Fürstenhaupt (great machine), and want to
add another one:
Since many years, we have a Cressington Turbo Carbon Coater 208 Carbon. Works
reliably. Nice, easy. Satisfactorily.
Combi of rotary plus turbo pump. Fast.
Carbon rods evaporation.
Easy to handle, in my opinion.
Quartz crystal thickness monitoring.
(Sample stage rotation is optional, we do not have this).
We use it regularly for continous carbon films on freshly cleaved mica with
5-15 nm. Any application.
Some people even use them for 2-3 nm carbon films (for cryo).
The machine is sold in Germany by Tescan Dortmund.
get a quotation - ours is > 5 yrs old, so this is too long ago.
At the time of acquisition, it was the cheapest and it was a perfect buy.
( happy to offer testing, on-site. )
