[3dem] Scientist/ Senior Scientist permanent position at eBIC

Electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC) at the UK National Synchrotron, Diamond Light Source (Diamond), has two positions available at cryo-Electron Microscopy Scientis/ Senior Scientist level. The positions are permanent and full time.

eBIC has been established 10 years ago as the UK National facility for high throughput cryo-EM. Over this time the facility grew to house 5 Titan Krios microscopes (4 for academic and 1 for industrial users), Talos Arctica, 2 Glacios microscopes (one for industrial users and one shared with Research Complex at Harwell), FIB-SEM Scios and Aquilos microscopes and Leica cryo-CLEM. Our microscopes feature various energy filters and the latest generations of electron detectors for single particle, tomography and micro-crystal 3D electron diffraction (3DED). Our Aquilos is complemented with in-chamber fluorescence equipment. Through various partners within Diamond and other Harwell Campus institutes we have access to a wide variety of the "latest and greatest" equipment and technologies, including those at the development stage. At eBIC, we are striving to provide best possible support to our users , while constantly developing the facility and adding new services to address new needs of the cryo-EM community. Increase in the data acquisition speed and software improvements enabled us to give users more control over their sessions, shifting staff focus on maintaining instrument, training users and providing advice.
