Dear 3DEM community,

The analysis of conformational heterogeneity in single-particle cryo-EM
still requires better avenues to compare methods and the standardization of
validation metrics. We are launching a cryo-EM heterogeneity challenge and
would like to encourage all those with relevant algorithms to participate!
This challenge is a first step in this direction and we would love to
harness the expertise and talent of the community to take this step
together. The results submission window will open on Sept. 1 and close on
Oct. 31. Note that no winner will be declared and the main goal of this
challenge is to assess methods for comparing results of heterogeneity
methods. These datasets were prepared in collaboration with NYSBC, the
Grigorieff lab, and scientists at the Flatiron Institute.

All relevant information including the two datasets in the challenge can be
found at this website:

All the best.
