We are looking for a postdoc interested in building a super-resolution cryo-fluorescence microscope.  This is an exciting collaboration between the Metskas lab (Biology and Chemistry, cryo-CLEM and tomography) and Huang lab (Biomedical Engineering, adaptive optics) to explore novel ways of improving optical resolution and cryo-CLEM precision.

An ideal applicant will have prior experience in advanced light microscopy, biophysics, spectroscopy, optics, or electron microscopy. Purdue University is a large, highly-ranked public university located in West Lafayette, IN, USA.  The university’s research resources are extensive, and include a full cryo-EM instrumentation suite with BSL 2 capabilities, shared spectroscopy facilities, high performance computing clusters, and engineering/machining support (machine shop, glassblowers, etc.).  Cost of living near the university is low, and both Chicago and Indianapolis are within driving distance.
