[3dem] Associate research scientist position at NYU Langone

The Cryo-EM Core at NYU Langone Health is seeking to hire a scientist to join our team. The Core is equipped with a Titan Krios with Bioquantum K3 and Falcon III cameras and a Talos Arctica with Gatan K3 camera. The Core provides access to advanced cryo-EM techniques to users within NYU Langone as well as to outside users, including commercial projects. Besides having a Mark IV Vitrobot and a Leica GP, the Core also has a Chameleon grid making robot which offers the possibility of blot-free grid making.

The Core has a robust set of internal and external users, and collaborations are possible. We are using Leginon for single particle collections and SerialEM for tilt-series data.

The primary responsibilities for the position will include:

  *   Operation, user assistance, and training on the Talos Arctica and Titan Krios
  *   Grid preparation using all 3 devices as well as user training on them
  *   Record keeping
  *   On-the-fly data processing

The position is currently offered at the Associate Research Scientist level, however experienced candidates may be hired at the Research Scientist level. The NYU Langone Medical Center is located on the east side of Manhattan.

Qualifications: PhD with experience in cryo-EM, or MSc with similar training.
