Dear 3DEM community,

The Sauer Structural Biology Laboratory, part of the Center for Biomedical Research Support (CBRS) at The University of Texas at Austin is currently seeking a microscopy specialist to assist in the operation of our cryo-EM facility. The facility houses a Titan Krios equipped with a Biocontinuum energy filter and K3 detector as well as a recently installed Glacios equipped with CETA-D and Falcon 4 detectors. We are looking for an electron microscopist, preferably familiar with the operation of a Krios or Glacios. We are posting two positions for scientists of different levels of experience, and are willing to provide on the job training as required. The cryo-EM specialist will be partially responsible for the maintenance of instruments and user training. We further anticipate that the microscopy specialist will participate in sample preparation, data collection and processing. Salary and benefits are extremely competitive.

The University of Texas at Austin’s CBRS is a unit of 13 centrally administered service centers, which each provide access to shared resources to researchers at UT Austin. We collaborate with, and enable the research of a diverse, collaborative, friendly community of scientists whose work spans materials engineering to systems to molecular function. UT Austin is the flagship university of the University of Texas. It is home to ~40,000 undergraduates and ~12,000 graduate students. Austin is a vibrant city with great social, music, and outdoor scenes.
