Hi all,

This is for those of you who, like me, are ill-twitterate (and thus missed the
announcement on the @EMDB_EMPIAR Twitter account earlier today) but who
nevertheless want to have a chance to win a 1 TB SSD harddrive (*).

All you have to do is guess when EMPIAR (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://empiar.org/__;!!Mih3wA!QV5No6w65pbZ4GeuHe64G2dzrhJ2WKLtYKP0Qnf1hkBhXN6YM1fAwfvS9psFW2-VBA$ - the archive for
cryo-EM, volume EM and X-ray tomography and microscopy data) will break the 1
Petabyte barrier.

At present EMPIAR holds 870 TB of data in 536 entries (there are links to the
growth curves on the EMPIAR homepage), and with many entries in the pipeline,
we are not far off.

To participate in the competition, enter your guess of the date when EMPIAR
will reach 1 PB (plus your answers to two tie-breaker questions) using this
form: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://forms.gle/vs9ZHovwA6vV6HKM8__;!!Mih3wA!QV5No6w65pbZ4GeuHe64G2dzrhJ2WKLtYKP0Qnf1hkBhXN6YM1fAwfvS9pubBzl9rg$

Spread the word!

(*) No deposition necessary (but always welcome of course) :-)

On behalf of the EMPIAR team (Andrii, Ardan, Osman, Paul, Simone and Sriram),

--Gerard
