A postdoctoral position is available in the Dr. Vitold E. Galkin Lab at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. We have been using single particle approach to reconstruction of helical filaments from cryo-EM images to study the mechanisms of heart muscle contraction. Prior experience in any branch of structural biology is essential. Dr. Galkin has access to state-of-the-art University of Virginia Facilities which have Titan Krios TEM equipped with a K3 camera and newly installed Glacios equipped with a Falcon 4 camera. Eastern Virginia Medical School is located in Norfolk - a waterfront city in southeastern Virginia. It is two hours away from Richmond VA and 4 hours away from Washington, DC.
