[3dem] Open position: Laboratory Manager for Gemini 500 Cryo-SEM facility at EPFL/UNIL, Lausanne

Dear all,

Here is an open position to join the growing EM community in Lausanne :

The Center for Advanced Surface Analysis (CASA) was established in 2013 between Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the University of Lausanne. This center hosts multiple state-of-the-art analytical instruments, including two ion microprobes (ims 1280 and (cryo-)NanoSIMS), laser-ICPMS, a FEG electron microprobe, and a fully equipped Gemini 500 Cryo-SEM (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.epfl.ch/labs/lgb/cryo-sem/__;!!Mih3wA!V1L2_LmeDWvaisTiW4K6uDn3AGGOcbz2b3qS6x6uNI9FjHZi_1zQMzvWlF_DyDvKew$ ). These instruments are used in diverse research projects spanning the disciplines of geology/geochemistry, material sciences, biomineralization, environmental micro­biology, and cell biology.

Applicants are hereby invited to apply for a full-time, permanent position as Laboratory Manager for the Gemini 500 Cryo-SEM analytical facility. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the (cryo)SEM and preparation equipment. He/She will ensure data quality, train users (typically Master/PhD students and Postdocs), maintain a supply of consumables, and be responsible for laboratory safety, documentation, and billing.
