Postdoctoral fellowship in cell biology using correlative cryo electron microscopy

A postdoctoral fellowship position, funded by the Kempe Foundations, are available for a highly motivated cell biologist, with the dedication to work with correlative light and cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM). Project description: This project is focused on resolving the architecture of cytoskeleton and protein complexes in associated with membranes in cells. The aim is to make use of cryo-CLEM, and to punch the future development of florescence imaging under cryo conditions, cryo lamella preparation from cell culture and cryo electron tomography.

You will work in collaboration between the research group of Linda Sandblad associated to Molecular Infection Medicine in Sweden (MIMS),  Umeå Core facility for Electron Microscopy (UCEM) and SciLifeLab cryo-EM facility at the Department of Chemistry at Umeå University. Available for this project is a Titan Krios instrument with both Falcon3 and K2 direct electron detectors, Scios DualBeam SEM with Aquilos-upgraded cryo FIB and a Leica Thunder fluorescence microscope with cryo stage, as well as full access to all further instruments and sample preparation equipment at SciLifeLab cryo-EMUCEM and BICU, see homepage links:
