[3dem] Cryo-EM Faculty Position at Iowa State University

The Roy J. Carver Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa seeks a new tenure-track assistant or associate professor with expertise in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). The department recently received a large philanthropic gift from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust to establish a cryo-EM facility and recruit a facility director and multiple new faculty members. The facility, to be operational in the summer of 2020, will house a Thermo Scientific Glacios Cryo TEM equipped with a Gatan K3 Camera, joining an existing JEOL 2100 TEM equipped with Gatan OneView Camera. The successful candidate will have priority access to this facility as part of their start-up package. The Cryo-EM Facility will expand on the exceptional structural biology, biophysical, and computational resources that have been developed as part of an ongoing structural biology initiative at ISU.
