Dear Scott,

In terms of your application, since it has been scored both by our external User Review Committee (URC) and User Access Committee (UAC) it will considered for assignment of time by the NCCAT Time Allocation Committee (TAC). If time is not awarded the current cycle you will receive an email and the proposal will automatically be forwarded to the next cycle with 0.2 adjustment in the score (lowering the number). This adjustment may be done for up to two (2) cycles for a maximum adjustment of 0.4. If a proposal has not been scored or has not been awarded time in 3 cycles, then at that time we would recommend a new application be submitted taking into account the external reviewer’s comments.

We have a quarterly call for proposals. Deadlines are: April 1, 2019 for 2019-cycle 3, July 1, 2019 for 2019-cycle4, Oct 1, 2019 for 2020-cycle1, and Jan 1, 2019 for 2020-cycle2. More information may be found here: http://nccat.nysbc.org/proposalcentral/ .

If you are interested in finding out information about our other access categories the next general information video conference session is on March 22 @2pm EDT. Sign up by emailing nccatinfo at nysbc.org<mailto:nccatinfo at nysbc.org> .

Best,
Ed

Dear all,

NCCAT has a quarterly call for general user proposal (GUP) and cross-training proposal (TP) access categories. The next application deadline is April 1, 2019 for 2019’s scheduling cycle3 (2019-C3).

Apply now: http://nccat.nysbc.org/proposalcentral/<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__nccat.nysbc.org_proposalcentral_&d=DwMGaQ&c=HPMtquzZjKY31rtkyGRFnQ&r=83oH1wAWT4IgS5wkrbMWVg&m=GGNAXkUXcIFOgLrMYU0Hay5fB9w7fb1qCCIJiqWuRLc&s=XzHeESQZBazDT2c6RC3SIQvQiKB9dNiQ63UL1ZI8Tx0&e=> .

The GUP1 early access program supports single particle cryoEM data collection on one of our existing Titan Krios instruments using a Gatan K2 direct-electron detector. The GUP2 program allows limited use of Chameleon (the commercialized version of Spotiton). The TP1 program focuses on embedded research cross-training and TP2 program centers around facility manager cross-training. When the NCCAT wing at NYSBC completes construction (expected the summer of 2019) the scope of these access classes will be expanded.

NCCAT is committed to an open and transparent application process to ensure equal-opportunity nationwide access. For more information please sign up for our next general information video conference session on March 22 @2pm EST by emailing nccatinfo at nysbc.org<mailto:nccatinfo at nysbc.org> .

Best,
Ed Eng (NCCAT)
