[3dem] Rapidly deteriorating SIP pump on JEOL 2200-FS with use of cryo-holder

Hi Qiaohui,

In case you have a SVC contract I would recommend contacting your local SVC office. Offhand this doesn’t seem right. Typically a new SIP can last for 7-8 years when handled properly, something you seem to do.

Good luck.

Dear 3DEM members,

we have a JEOL 2200-FS TEM running at 200kv which we very occasionally will use to do some cryo-TEM work (once or twice every few months).
After every session, I would routinely do a round of ACD bake out and at the end of every month, I would do a round of column bake-out for 2-3 days to try to maintain the performance of the SIP pump. But recently, after installation of a new SIP pump about a year ago, we found that the SIP pump has started to deteriorate and not recover the next day, even after viewing room temperature samples.
I was wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem and if there would be any tips/advice to get around it.
Thanks!

Best regards,
Qiaohui
