*The Microscopy Society of America (MSA) Student Council (StC) is pleased
to announce the Call for Nominations for the 2019-2020 StC Executive
Officer Positions.*

      The MSA StC leadership is seeking nominations for the following
officer positions for the 2019-2020 academic year:

●      President-Elect

●      Secretary

●      Treasurer

Becoming a StC officer provides a rare opportunity to contribute to the
direction of an innovative and unique student association. StC leadership
service is a chance to gain skills and experience, develop personally and
professionally, make new and enduring connections, and collaborate with
motivated professionals and students in your field. Being a StC officer
allows you to be on the forefront of MSA student program development and
activities. Consider getting involved in StC – We need you to help our
community grow!

MSA StC provides a platform for students, postdocs, and early career
professionals to network, share experiences, discuss research, and simply
get involved with the most dynamic group of young professionals that
microscopy and microanalysis has to offer. StC leadership represents the
student members of the StC, and plans student oriented activities and
events, including the PMCx60. StC works closely with the MSA Executive
Council to provide insight into the needs and wishes of MSA student members.

StC officers serve in their positions for a total of one year, with the
exception of President Elect (one year as President Elect, one as
President, one as Past President). For more information concerning the
responsibilities associated with these positions, the link to the position

duration of these commitments into consideration as you read through the
StC leadership role descriptions.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

●      Must be a student (undergraduate/graduate) at an accredited
institution

●      Hold an active membership in MSA, MSA/MAS

●      Be willing to accept a leadership role for the full term

●      Have time to dedicate to fulfilling their responsibilities

Help MSA StC by nominating a colleague or yourself for the for the
positions of President Elect, Treasurer, or Secretary. The Call for
Nominations closes on April 30, 2019 and the elections will occur by
electronic ballot to all current MSA student members during the month of
June. The nomination form can be found at
https://www.microscopy.org/students/responsibilities.cfm. New officers take
office at the conclusion of M&M 2019 (Portland).

Please note: President-Elect candidates must review position descriptions
for all three positions: PE, P, PP
