We have an opening for an operations manager/ research EM applications specialist (full-time/ permanent) in the CUI.  The unit is diverse and supports the broad EM (cryo and room temperature with a range of 3D techniques) research needs of King’s College London.  As such, I’m really looking for the right person to join the team who will bring their own EM interests and help strengthen and develop CUI.

The Centre for Ultrastructural Imaging (CUI) is the central electron microscopy unit at King's College London. We offer electron microscope services for internal and external collaborators from academia. We also provide a commercial diagnostic electron microscopy service to the NHS and collaborate with industrial instrument manufacturing partners.

The CUI is seeking to recruit an applications expert in research electron microscopy (EM) with in-depth knowledge of EM technical and scientific practices, EM methods and procedures. Able to readily implement knowledge through gained experience and formal qualification across a range of advanced specialist technical support EM activities covering scanning and transmission electron microscopy in a basic research setting.

The role will report to the Academic Director and be divided between day to day operational management of CUI (ensuring the unit effectively implements the strategic objectives of King's) and the delivery and development of the EM research and service activity.
