Hi everyone,

Thank you for the answers already given. I think I should provide a bit more information:

We have a Titan, the LN2 tank, and the control station all in the same room (perhaps not ideal, but everything works fine). We receive the tanks from a company, so we're not in control of their filling procedure or tank/valve quality.

We are considering some sort of muffler attachment because we're looking for an in-place solution, but we're interested in people's experiences and recommendations before trying this out.

Sincerely,

Drew Gingerich

Subject: Quieting a noisy LN2 tank pressure relief valve?

Hello,

Does anyone have experience and/or recommendations for using a muffling/silencing attachment to control noise levels of a pressure relief valve?

We have a 50L LN2 tank with a very noisy pressure relief valve (24 psi limit) that's in the same room as the control station for our microscope. When the valve opens it's both startling and loud enough to hurt our ears, so we're searching for ways to make it quieter.

Thank you for your help,

Drew Gingerich
