[3dem] Sad news about Ken Downing

Hello,

I met Ken when I started working as a tech in Bob Glaeser's lab back in 2004. At the time I had no idea what an amazing person Ken was but over the next 8 years it became obvious how lucky I was to be able to share his company.  I'll always fondly remember having coffee at Donner lab with Ken and talking about the news or problems with experiments or anything at all.   He was a great man and I will miss him.

What unbelievably sad news. Ken was such a nice and pleasant person. A pioneer who shaped the field and was open and welcoming to newcomers like myself at the time. My condolences to his family.
