Thanks so much for letting us know. Not only have we lost a giant in our field, but the world has lost a remarkable person. My thoughts go out especially to his family and closest friends, but also to all who mourn his passing. He will be sorely missed.

Subject: [3dem] Sad news about Ken Downing

Dear all,

It is with great sadness and disbelief that we write to let you know that Ken Downing passed away last night, peacefully, at his house, surrounded by his loving family.

Ken made numerous contributions to our field and was respected and loved by everyone that knew him. His unique sense of humor, his kindness and his insights will be deeply missed.
