Scientist Position in cryoTEM at NanoImaging Services
NanoImaging Services, Inc. (NIS), an industry leader in providing comprehensive structural analysis and characterization of biopharmaceuticals using electron cryo-microscopy and advanced image processing, is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Scientist to join our talented team. This is a full time position with generous benefits.

The successful candidate will contribute to both the imaging and analysis of samples of therapeutic interest using electron cryo-microscopy and advanced image processing techniques, which are integrated in a highly automated data processing pipeline. The individual will prepare negatively stained and vitrified specimen grids, collect data, process digital electron micrographs with advanced computational methods including three-dimensional image reconstruction, evaluate the results to ensure that high quality standards and client specifications are met, and compile the results and relevant observations into detailed client reports that comply with current federal agency regulations. The individual will collaborate closely with other scientists and staff within the company in order to perform these tasks on time and within tight deadlines, and ensure all data are recorded and organized in an electronic laboratory notebook system. In addition, the successful candidate will investigate, test and implement improvements to both experimental and computational methods as needed to benefit the services offered by NIS.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree and extensive hands-on experience in cryoTEM sample preparation, cryoTEM data collection and image processing. Experience with Leginon/Appion, a published record of scientific accomplishments, and experience with single particle analysis is highly desirable. Relevant postdoctoral and/or industry experience would be a plus. The ability to maintain rigorous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills under demanding timelines is essential, as well as the ability to re-prioritize efforts to meet dynamically shifting workloads. The successful candidate must also have excellent oral and written English communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

NanoImaging Services, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. Interested individuals are encouraged to send a resume with cover letter containing information on their qualifications, including advanced training in the field of electron microscopy and image processing, and complete contact information for three individuals with a scientific background and first hand knowledge of the applicant’s qualifications that can act as references, to admin at nimgs.com.
