Dear colleagues,

Two postdoctoral positions will be available after Dec 2016 in Rui Zhang's
group at the Washington University in St. Louis. The lab will be in the WU
School of Medicine (WUSM) (https://medicine.wustl.edu/). WUSM will have a
brand new FEI Titan Krios (equipped with Cs corrector, phase plate etc) and
a K2 direct detector installed in early 2017. Besides plenty of access to
the Titan Krios in the near future, a JEOL-1400 microscope is currently
available for sample screening. WUSM also offers a state-of-the-art
facility for cellular imaging (http://wucci.wustl.edu/).

Dr. Zhang's group will primarily use single particle cryo-EM, together with
other biophysical techniques, to study the structure and function of
macromolecular complexes in the cytoskeleton system. There will also be
plenty of opportunities to work on various protein complexes through local
collaborations within the WU campus.

A list of Dr. Zhang's publication can be found here:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/myncbi/1X_CdlpZNlVQ5/bibli
ography/40604497/public/?sort=date&direction=ascending

The candidates must have (or expecting) a PhD or equivalent degree in
biological sciences. Preferred qualifications:
1) Demonstrated expertise in protein purification from various expression
systems
2) Demonstrated experience in single particle cryo-EM or cryo-ET

To apply, please email your CV and names of your references to
ruiz at berkeley.edu.
