Dear Colleagues,

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is pleased to announce the Inaugural Symposium: "The Resolution Revolution: New windows into cellular structure and function" to be held at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX on April 25, 2016. Distinguished guest speakers include the cryo-electron microscopy and tomography experts Yifan Cheng (UCSF), Wah Chiu (Baylor College of Medicine), Nikolaus Grigorieff (Janelia Research Campus) and Dick McIntosh (University of Colorado, Boulder).


Travel awards for minority students and/or for students with limited funds: To promote the mission of the co-sponsoring Keith R. Porter Endowment for Cell Biology we are offering several travel awards for interested minority students and/or students with limited funds to attend the symposium; each award will cover up to $500 of the transportation and accommodation costs. To apply please submit a short essay (max. 300 words) on why attending this symposium will benefit your education and future career (incl. how critical the award would be for attending the symposium) to cb.recruitment at utsouthwestern.edu, deadline: April 13, 2016. Awardees will be selected by a committee and notified via email.
