Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
Single Particle Cryo-Electron Microscopy
 
The Center for Integrative Proteomics Research and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seek to hire an outstanding tenure track assistant professor in the area of Cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryo-EM), with expertise in high-resolution single particle studies of macromolecular complexes. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., a distinguished record of scholarship, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, and the leadership abilities to develop and support a world-class research program. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active, extramurally-funded research program and also to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cellular and structural biology. The Center for Integrative Proteomics Research (hereafter Center) is housed in a state-of-the-art 75,000-square-foot facility committed to fostering interdisciplinary research in the biological and biomedical sciences using complementary quantitative tools of measurement and analysis. The Center also houses the RCSB Protein Data Bank (rcsb.org), the EM Data Bank (emdatabank.org), and the Institute for Quantitative Biomedicine (iqb.rutgers.edu). The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (hereafter SEBS or the School) encompasses basic and applied science departments and core facilities that represent rich opportunities for collaboration. Together the Center, the School, and the expansive Rutgers biomedical research community provide access to a broad array of excellent state-of-the-art facilities, including a newly equipped cryo-EM suite in the Center, and a highly competitive start-up package.
 
The Center and the School are co-located with the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in Piscataway/New Brunswick, and are less than one hour from New York City and Philadelphia.
